Area Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty cars have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were defaced, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they announced in a statement.
Police say they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.
The liquid had been applied in the pattern of a banned symbol, they added.
Officers then located multiple other marked automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under legislation banning the public display of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement say preliminary tests indicate the fluid was likely blood from a person.
"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; officials are presently not aware of any harm in relation with the event," they stated.
City officials announced they were working "to resolve the incident" and have appealed to the residents for tips.
An important representative stated the attack left him without words and had to be resolved rapidly.
"This incident strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right violent incident half a decade ago," he posted on a platform, referring to the murder of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
